ISU Dorm Life

Well, here's just a little bit about what it was like to live in a college dorm.

Here's a picture of the dorm I stayed in. It's called Jones Hall. I lived on the 7th floor, in room 705.

My roomate was Kristen, she goes to my school, and she's a grade level below me. It was really kewl that someone from my school was there, cause people came from all over (Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, etc).

Below is a picture of our dorm room. My bed is the blue one, and my desk is the one on the left; the bed further back and the desk on the right are Kristen's. The first picture is the first week, and the second picture is the second week...hehe - notice a difference in neatness?

This is the view from my dorm window. To the left is Hines hall, an all boys dorm where the boys from summer experience stayed (our dorm, Jones, is an all girls dorm). Straight ahead is Sanders Hall, and to the right (although you can't see it in this picture) is another dorm; so basically there were 4 dorms in a square, surrounding this one courtyard thing. Here's a layout of the floors in our residence hall. Since we were in Room 705, that would correspond with the number 5 room. Jillian (the other French student) and Rae (one of the German girls) were just around the corner from us, in 704. And Cori (the other German girl) and Bree (she was there for English, but she's actually from Plainfield, what a coincidence!) lived in room 702. We also met a bunch of other people on our floor who took Spanish. We had parties in the lounge sometimes, which were really fun. The latest I stayed up for one of those was 2 am - college living - woo hoo! So yeah, college life is great. You meet people so easily, and you really get to know people even if they're not in your classes - cause if they're on your floor, you're bound to run into them from time to time.
